Open seven days a week, the store sells a wide range of products, including everyday essentials, and is popular with the local community. The property also features an independently accessed three-bedroom flat and storage space.
Situated in the village of Rockwell Green, the store stands unopposed and has proved profitable under its most recent ownership.
Simon Brock, who has run the store for just over 25 years, has now decided to retire.
He commented on the sale, “It has been a wonderful experience running the store for the last 25 years. I have very much enjoyed serving the local community and have made many friends along the way. I would very much like to thank all the customers who have shopped with us over the years, along with the amazing staff.”
The new owner of Brocks at Rockwell Green, Mehukumar Vyas, is an experienced operator with other stores in the wider Somerset and Dorset areas.
Mehukumar Vyas added, “I am very much looking forward to continuing the amazing job that Simon has done over the years. It is a fabulous shop with a loyal customer base. I look forward to serving the local community for the next 25 years.”
Matthew McFarlane, Senior Business Agent – Retail & Leisure at Christie & Co, said, “It has been a pleasure working with Simon Brock over the last 18 months. Simon established an excellent local business which had huge appeal across the market when launched. I would like to wish Simon all the very best in retirement and Mehul with his new venture.”
Funding for the acquisition was arranged by Luke Allen and Joe Carden at Christie Finance. Luke Allen, Finance Consultant, said, “It was a pleasure to support Mehul and see another successful transaction complete. We arranged the funding for this acquisition, leveraging both his existing leasehold stores and the purchase site to secure a highly serviceable loan with minimal security. Our Unsecured team also assisted by arranging a separate facility for the stock acquisition. This was a strong example of how a joined‑up approach across Christie & Co, Christie Finance, and Christie Insurance can deliver excellent outcomes. I wish Mehul every success and congratulate Simon Brock on a well‑deserved sale after 25 years serving the local community.”
Insurance for the buyer was also provided by Christie Insurance.
Marvin Hatchwell, Account Executive at Christie Insurance, said: “It is always a pleasure helping business owners like Mehul protect what they’ve worked hard to build, giving them real peace of mind, and we look forward to supporting him, as the business evolves.”
Brocks at Rockwell Green was sold at an undisclosed sum, off a freehold asking price of £875,000.
