Located on the A38 close to Bristol Airport, the Darlington Arms is a traditional, stone-built country pub with seven letting bedrooms. The pub is a popular choice for travellers flying from Bristol and those visiting the surrounding Somerset countryside.

The pub has been sold to an experienced businessman and marks his first move into the hospitality sector.

The sale process was managed by Graeme Clifford, Business Agent at Christie & Co, who commented, “The Darlington Arms is located a short drive from Bristol Airport and on the edge of the Chew Valley, so we had significant interest from buyers who could see the opportunity to capitalise on having a characterful freehold pub with quality letting rooms in a prime spot for both leisure and business travellers.

“The sale demonstrates that well-positioned and well-priced pubs continue to generate interest, despite the many headwinds the industry is experiencing.”

Insurance for the pub was secured through Christie Insurance. David Foster, Account Executive at Christie Insurance, added, “We utilised our panel of insurers to source a competitive premium whilst ensuring all requirements specified by our client were fully met. We wish the new owners the best of luck with their acquisition.”
