Voted ‘Best Village Shop and Post Office in the South West of England’ and runner up for the UK in the Countryside Alliance Village Shop Awards 2024, the popular village store and post office was purchased by Andrew Stevenson-Hamilton in 2020. Having transformed the business into an award-winning convenience store serving the local community, he decided to sell the store in order to retire.
The store has been purchased by Ian Hughes, who is based locally and brings a wealth of experience from running another village store in the region.
James Matson, Associate Director at Christie & Co, managed the sale process and said, “We were delighted to act for the owner in this sale, having previously sold the business to him. The new buyer brings experience running similar shops and I have no doubt that they will continue to provide a superb service for the local community.”
The store sold for an undisclosed sum.
