Durham sandwich bar sold following 13 years of ownership

Previous owners, Kelly Paxton and Helen Armstrong opened Paxton’s from a vacant unit around 13 years and the store has become a recognisable local business. The business offers a range of burgers, wraps, sandwiches, cakes, cooked breakfast and coffee as well as a delivery service. A two bed flat which is currently used for storage and an office was also included in the sale.
Kelly and Helen decided to sell the business to move onto another project and comment, “Having built the business from scratch in 2009, we were ready for a new venture. Working with Christie & Co made the process easier and enabled us to continue running our business while we found a suitable new owner.”
The shop has been sold to a neighbouring business owner, Mr Christo who runs the chip shop next door. He comments, “The business is great, I just had to buy it. People tend to say they will change things when they buy a business, I have no plans to change anything. It runs as it should and the customers love it so I will carry on with it as Helen and Kelly left it.”

Had it been confidential, we may not have found the buyer as quickly as we did. Paxton’s Sandwich Bar was sold at an undisclosed price.
