Salisbury care home sold for the first time since 1999

Fairfax House is a ‘Good’ rated residential and dementia care home that is registered for 20 residents. It occupies a two-storey, 20-bedroom property close to the centre of Salisbury, which benefits from attractive day space, mature gardens, and a strong reputation for providing good care.
Having owned the home since 1999, Alan and Diana Butchers decided to put the business on the market to retire from the care sector.
Following a confidential sales process with Charles Phillips at Christie & Co, it has been purchased by first-time buyers from London, Lionel and Pioshy Marcelline.
Alan and Diana Butchers, former owners of Fairfax House, comment, “We have enjoyed running Fairfax House and getting to know the staff - many of whom have been with us since shortly after we started - as well as the residents and their families. However, we felt now was the right time to sell and retire from the sector. Having operated Fairfax House and another care home in Salisbury, we hope we have been of benefit to the local community. We are pleased to be handing the business over to the new buyers and wish them all the best.”
Lionel Marcelline, the new owner of Fairfax House, comments, “Both Pioshy and I are very excited about taking over Fairfax House and continuing the good name the home has in the local area. This is our first care home and look forward to many years involved in the sector. When we first saw Fairfax House, we knew this was the business for us.”

Fairfax House was sold for an undisclosed price.
