Family-run garden centre & café in Salisbury set for new ownership

Courtens Garden Centre has been owned and operated for many years by Chris and Jane Hiles and came to the market as the couple are looking to retire.

After launching to the market through Christie & Co in the summer of 2022, the site received bids from a range of prospective purchasers who appreciated the potential to grow and develop this hugely popular garden centre and café.  

The freehold business has been sold to Brian and Inga Jones and will continue trading as a family-run garden centre and café. 

Tom Glanvill, Retail Director at Christie & Co, who heads up the garden centre team and handled the sale comments, “Courtens Garden Centre is the ninth garden centre that Christie & Co has sold in Hampshire and Wiltshire in the last five years. The market for garden centre businesses remains very strong and we anticipate a high volume of transactions in 2023. This business benefits from strong customer loyalty and an excellent local reputation. There is plenty of scope for the new owners to capitalise on the significant potential that the site offers.
