Family-run pub in Essex village sold through Christie & Co
Specialist hospitality property adviser, Christie & Co is pleased to announce the sale of The Queen Victoria in Woodham Walter on behalf of Essex-based pub company, Gray & Sons.
The Queen Victoria is a sizable property featuring a public bar and lounge, plus a dining area for 30 guests. With a garden, car park and garage there is room to extend the venue and create a popular food-led pub in this attractive area.
The family-run group, Gray & Sons, currently operate an estate of 49 tenanted public houses across the county, with a focus on drink sales. They decided to sell the freehold property in addition to the Rose in Burnham which sold in January, as it was felt it was time to pass them to entrepreneurial owners looking to breathe new life into the venues.
Liana Gatier, Business Agent for Pubs & Restaurants at Christie & Co, who marketed the pub comments, “This was a great opportunity to acquire a closed freehold free house for under £400,000. Pubs in the Essex area always generate good interest and we wish the new owners well in their endeavours.”
