M&D Green Dispensing Chemists acquires group of 9 Scottish pharmacies
Specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co, has announced the sale of a group of nine Scottish pharmacies trading under the brand of Gordons Chemists.

The portfolio comprises nine pharmacies located in Helensburgh, Alexandria, Milngavie, Cowdenbeath, Musselburgh, Edinburgh, Armadale, Stranraer, and Oban. Combined, they dispense an average of 82,600 items per month.
With the transaction, Gordons Chemists, Northern Ireland’s largest independent pharmacy chain, has exited the Scottish market to concentrate on its local network of 56 pharmacies.
Following a confidential sales process with Karl Clezy at Christie & Co, all nine pharmacies have been sold to the large group operator, M&D Green Dispensing Chemists, which now owns a total of 42 pharmacies across Scotland.

We acted on behalf of Gordons Chemists to run a discreet process. After agreeing on the deal with Martin during the middle of December last year, after a short financial due diligence exercise, Martin moved quickly to conclude the deal.”
These nine pharmacies were sold for an undisclosed price.
