Dr Showman sells final Manchester dental practice after 40 years
Specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co, has announced the sale of H Showman & Associates Dental Practice in Failsworth, Greater Manchester.
Founded by Dr Harvey Showman in the 1980s, H Showman & Associates is a long-established, five-surgery NHS dental practice located in Failsworth, Greater Manchester, approximately four miles northeast of Manchester city centre.
Dr Showman, who has owned and operated many practices in Manchester over the years, decided to sell his final practice to pursue a well-earned retirement, though he plans to continue working at the practice for the time being.
The business has been sold to an independent regional operator whose portfolio comprises several practices across the North and Midlands.
Dr Showman comments, “Since I established the practice 40 years ago, we quickly grew into a four-surgery practice working until 8pm and on Sundays. For a number of years, we were the Oldham in-hours dental emergency practice, during which time the practice saw and treated an additional 400 patients a month. Opening on Xmas Day and Boxing Day saw the practice providing out of hours emergency services to a huge patient base; we always felt we had a responsibility towards both our own patients and the wider community. Over the years it has become more and more clear that the staff are the bedrock of any practice and I leave them with a heavy heart.”

H Showman & Associates Dental Practice was sold for an undisclosed price.
