Pub near Kirkby Sigston in North Yorkshire sold

Located around five miles from Northallerton on the edge of the North York Moors National Park, The Haynes Arms is a traditional stone-built public house, originally set within a 3.9-acre plot of land. The property was acquired by a private owner through Christie & Co in 2021, who subsequently gained planning permission for a holiday park on the adjacent field.

The pub has been sold by the owner, who has retained the adjacent holiday park development site in order to develop it themselves.

The pub has been sold to the Motorbikers Cosmetic Company who plan to refurbish the property and continue to utilise it for a commercial use. Mark Matthews commented, “We are thrilled to make The Haynes Arms the new home of MCC. Our business specialises in creating natural, therapeutic products that support people living with conditions such as fibromyalgia and arthritis. Having outgrown our previous space, we’re excited to restore this beautiful building and bring new life to it, while continuing to grow our business here in the heart of North Yorkshire.”

The sale was managed by Jamie Keith, Director at Christie & Co, who added, “Being two defined markets - pubs and holiday parks - the client instructed us to market the property as two separate lots, in order to maximise the value of the site. The client subsequently decided to retain the holiday park development site, illustrating the confidence that is still very much present in the sector despite the ongoing macroeconomic environment. We wish our client and MCC all the best in refurbishing and developing both parts of the property and site.”

The pub sold for an undisclosed price.
