The petrol station is located on the B5051 in the Norton area of Stoke-on-Trent, a busy through-road and next to a large housing estate.

The site had been owned by the Rahman family as an investment for a number of years.

Following the site’s closure in September, it has been acquired by Premier Petrol Stations, who own and operates other petrol stations in the area, with the sale completing just ten days after solicitors were instructed.

Muhammad Yasir from Premier Petrol Stations commented, “I am delighted with this latest acquisition, which is located in a great area for us, close to our other sites in Stoke. We were quick to act, with only ten days from offer to completion. We would like to thank Dave Morris at Christie & Co for being available around the clock to ensure the acquisition went through in such a short space of time.”

Mr Rahman, the former owner, commented, “We decided the time was right to sell. The situation was complicated but Dave Morris at Christie & Co’s advice and hard work allowed us to exit the site so we can now concentrate on our other business interests.”

Muhammad is looking to re-open the site in the next few weeks with a full shop refit planned. Jet will continue to supply the fuel and Morrisons will supply the shop.

Dave Morris, Regional Director at Christie & Co who handled the sale, commented, “The site was sold in very unusual circumstances, but we were able to work with the seller and buyer to achieve a sale promptly so that Mr Rahman can focus on his other business interests. The site is a great addition to Premier Petrol Stations’ portfolio and we look forward to seeing the site fully re-open in the next few weeks.

“This is the second forecourt sale to complete in the region in the last few weeks, with several more in the pipeline, and it is encouraging to see strong appetite for the sector despite various economic headwinds.”
