Jeake’s House dates back to the 16th century, when it originally comprised of a school, a chapel, and a wool store. The buildings have been sympathetically converted and combined into one impressive and characterful property, with 11 individually-styled guest bedrooms. The hotel also includes owners’ accommodation, a private garden, and ample parking.
Jeake's House has established and maintained an excellent reputation, achieving AA Five Star status and strong reviews on TripAdvisor, enjoying repeat business from guests from all over the world. The hotel has been under the same ownership for over 30 years, and has been sold due to retirement.
Simon Jackaman, Director in Christie & Co’s Hotels team who handled the sale, said: “It was a pleasure to act for our client on this sale. Jeake’s House is a real gem, and under our client’s ownership has established itself as one of the finest hotels in the area, with exceptionally strong levels of repeat trade. The business has been sold as a going concern to a businessman who operates other leisure assets in the area, and we wish them and their team the best of luck for their future.”
The hotel freehold was sold off an asking price of £1,900,000.
