Pair of successful Penrith day nurseries sold for the first time

Established in 2003, Kiddlywinks Nursery is a highly regarded children’s day nursery group with two settings in Penrith. They are both rated ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted and have a combined capacity for up to 154 children. Over the last 22 years, the settings have thrived, attracting new parents from the local area and surrounding towns due to the support of a dedicated, long-serving, and passionate team who have created exceptional ‘home from home’ environments.
The group’s founder, Karen James, recently decided to sell due to retirement.
Following a sales process with Sofia Beck at Christie & Co, the settings have been purchased by Kids Planet Day Nurseries, which now owns over 240 settings across the UK.
Sofia Beck, Director – Childcare & Education at Christie & Co, comments, “We could see that Karen’s two lovely settings were a clear fit for Kids Planet’s growing portfolio, especially given that they previously didn’t have a presence in Penrith and had just recently entered into the Cumbrian nursery market.
“It was great to assist Karen with her exit and also to see her two daughters remain in situ as the nursery managers, ensuring the ethos she’s instilled lives on under Kids Planet’s ownership. We’d like to wish Karen and her family all the best for the future and congratulations to Kids Planet for the new addition to their family.”
Kiddlywinks Nursery was sold for an undisclosed price.
