Kingsley House Nursing Home is a well-established care business that is registered for 37 residents. It occupies an attractive, 35-bedroom detached Cotswold stone property that has historic significance, as it was once used as a hospital and is one of the oldest care homes in Tetbury.

The home has been owned by Aleem Siddiqi for over 25 years, who has continuously improved the business, most recently with an extension that has created additional bedrooms. He decided to sell to pursue a well-earned retirement.

Following a confidential sales process with Simon Harvey, the home has been purchased by Kandiah Vijayakumar, who owns four other care homes located in Yeovil, Castle Cary, Sherborne (Dorset), and Goatacre in Wiltshire.

Kandiah Vijayakumar, the new owner of Kingsley House Nursing Home, comments, “I was particularly interested in the location and confident that value could be added, as I have successfully done with four other properties in our group. This aligned with our goal of expanding in South West England.”

Simon Harvey, Senior Director – Care at Christie & Co, comments, “Knowing how sought after care homes in the area are, especially in such a popular location and with something of the quality of Kingsley House, we were delighted to have been chosen by Mr Siddiqi to act on his behalf and to assist his retirement. The home generated a great deal of interest from a wide range of parties, with multiple offers having been received, all of which underpin the market, not just in Gloucestershire but the wider South West, where we once again saw record transaction levels in 2025.

“Having known Vijay Kumar for some time and closely followed his expansion, we were pleased to be able to match his requirements with a home such as Kingsley House and are delighted to have assisted his continued expansion.  We wish Mr Siddiqi well with his retirement and Vijay Kumar every success with the business in the future.”

Kingsley House Nursing Home was sold for an undisclosed price.
