Open seven days a week, the popular store sells a range of products including daily essentials, groceries, confectionary and newspapers. Seen as a key amenity by local residents, the shop also offers services including the National Lottery and parcel delivery.
The corner plot unit is situated on the main entrance into Market Square in Northampton, with the square recently involved in a multi-million-pound regeneration programme which has seen much of the immediate area become pedestrianised and completely refurbished.
The property is set back from the road against a pedestrianised area at the entrance to Northampton’s market stalls, with on street parking available.
The outgoing owner had operated the business for a number of years, and the store has now been acquired by an experienced retail operator. Jacob Toon, Associate Director – Retail & Leisure at Christie & Co who managed the sale process commented, “I am absolutely thrilled to have secured the sale of Market Square News. The demand for quality convenience stores remains strong in the market on both a leasehold and freehold basis.”
