Founders of popular children’s day nursery in Weston-super-Mare sell after 35-year ownership

Founded in 1991 by Julian and Linda Matthews, Little Bears Day Nursery is a welcoming, Ofsted rated ‘Good’ children’s day nursery setting that cares for up to 52 children aged six weeks to five years old at any one time. It sits on Martindale Road in a residential area of this popular seaside town.

Julian and Linda decided to sell because they were retiring.

Following a confidential sales process with Jassi Sunner at Christie & Co, the setting has been purchased by Kids Planet Day Nurseries, which owns over 250 nurseries across the UK.

Julian and Linda Matthews, former owners of Little Bears Day Nursery, comment, “Having decided to sell the nursery after 35 years of owning nurseries was a decision that did not come easily to us. However, we felt the time was right for us to retire.”

As a result, our tailored approach meant we were able to target buyers who we knew would give value to our client, but also work to get the sale completed promptly. Little Bears Day Nursery was sold for an undisclosed price.
