Established Marlow day nursery sold to existing operator as owners retire

Established in 1997, this Ofsted-rated ‘Good’ children’s day nursery caters for up to 58 children aged 18 months to five years. The nursery is located on the grounds of a school and attracts parents from the local area, making it an integral part of its community.
The business’s previous owners, Shashi and Sunitha Irukulla, acquired the setting in 2017 and have taken great pride in its reputation for providing a warm, caring and secure environment for children. They recently decided to sell to retire from the sector.
Following a confidential sales process with Sophie Willcox at Christie & Co, the nursery has been purchased by Sai Childcare Ltd, an existing operator with two other nurseries in Essex and South West London.

“This sales process took longer than we had originally hoped due to the need for a new lease which emphasises the importance of getting your ‘ducks in a row’ ahead of time so that you’re ready for when you receive an offer. This will help to make the sales process smooth and hopefully shorten its time.”
This was a leasehold sale with the lease being with the local council. It was sold for an undisclosed price.
