Stag Chemists Group grows with latest Birmingham pharmacy acquisition

My Local Chemist - Hay Mills is a standard hours pharmacy adjacent to a health centre that dispenses an average of 2,500 items per month. It is located on Coventry Road in the Hay Mills area of East Birmingham, just three miles south of the city centre.
The pharmacy has been owned by Great Wood Pharmacy Limited for over 10 years and was brought to market to allow them to focus on their larger volume pharmacies.
Following a confidential sales process with Carl Steer at Christie & Co, it has been purchased by Birmingham-based group operator, Stag Chemists, which now has six pharmacies across the city.
Carl Steer, Director - Pharmacy at Christie & Co, comments, “Our clients have a clear goal to operate fewer larger pharmacies, so to that end decided to divest of this pharmacy. A local group operator has bought the pharmacy and believes in being able to take the pharmacy forward and increase income greatly. This acquisition takes the Stag Chemist Group to six branches, and I wish them every success.”
