Lichfield's boutique care home sold after 36-year ownership

Rosemary Lodge Care Home is an established, boutique-style residential care home that has been sympathetically converted over the years to offer 28 en-suite bedrooms and beautiful landscaped gardens. It sits on Walsall Road in Lichfield, which is within walking distance of the city centre.

The home has been owned by Susan Angenent for almost 36 years and was brought to market in preparation for her retirement.

Following a confidential sales process with Paul Reilly at Christie & Co, the home has been purchased by an existing care home operator, who specialises in high-quality residential care for the private sector, operating in both the West Midlands and the South.

Susan Angenent, the former owner of Rosemary Lodge, comments, “A couple of years ago, I knew it was important to start planning my retirement. More importantly, I wanted not to be in a rush and to find the most suitable buyer. It was the toughest decision I’ve ever made, as the home has been my baby for almost 36 years since we started with three residents on 3 Oct 1990, creating history, longevity, and a superb reputation. To continue the legacy and success of the home for the future, I knew I could only hand over the baton to someone who could bring experience together with new energy and a new vision. With numerous buyers interested in the sale, the buyer was introduced by Christie and Co and I  knew immediately with confidence that he was the right buyer to take Rosemary Lodge forward to the next chapter in its history.”

Rosemary Lodge Care Home was sold for an undisclosed price.
