Dorset community pharmacy sold to first-time buyer

Sandford Pharmacy is a standard-hours, community pharmacy dispensing an average of 7,000 prescription items per month. Located on St Helens Road in the village of Sandford in Dorset, the business benefits from an unopposed trading position in a predominantly residential area.
In addition to standard pharmacy services, the branch provides a range of enhanced services, including Pharmacy First, New Medicine Service (NMS), and flu vaccinations.
Sandford Pharmacy was previously owned by Everyou Health Limited, a small regional group operating three other pharmacies. The former owner, Tirath Dosanj, made the decision to bring the business to market as part of a strategic review of the group’s portfolio.
Following a sales process with Richard Thomas at Christie & Co, Sandford Pharmacy has been purchased by AMB Pharma Ltd. The new ownership is led by first-time buyer Anna Mielczarek, who will be taking on the day-to-day operation of the business. She is joined in the purchase by her business partner, Madhu Bhogadi, who already owns another pharmacy.
Madhu Bhogadi, the new owner of Sandford Pharmacy, comments, “I have worked in the area as a locum Pharmacist until I bought my first pharmacy two years ago. When Sandford Pharmacy came to market, I could see a lot of potential for growth. This is a difficult time for pharmacy owners as we are facing the perfect storm of financial, operational, and workforce challenges; however, we will be diversifying the revenue stream at Sandford Pharmacy by introducing more private services, improving efficiencies and the customer experience.”

Sandford Pharmacy was sold for an undisclosed price.
