St Peter’s Home is a ‘Good’ CQC-rated residential care home registered for up to 38 elderly residents, including those with dementia.
The property is located on St Peters Road in a residential area of Margate, approximately one mile from Margate train station.
The home has been in the Gillies family’s ownership since 1987, and was recently brought to market to enable its current owner, Martin Gillies, to retire.
Following a confidential sales process with John Harrison at Christie & Co, the home has been purchased by established operator, Indi Toot, who already successfully operates care homes in the Kent area.
Martin Gillies, the former owner of St Peter’s Home, comments, “It was a difficult decision to sell St Peter's Home, having been in the family ownership since 1987, but I am delighted to have sold it to an established care home operator who already successfully operates care homes in the area so that I can retire knowing the business is in experienced hands.”
Indi Toot, the new owner of St Peter’s Home, comments, “I am delighted to have completed the purchase of St Peter’s Home as it is well established, offers potential to expand, and is also close to our other care homes in Kent and therefore fits very well with our existing care home group.”
John Harrison, Director – Care at Christie & Co, comments, “I am very pleased to have achieved Martin’s aim to retire from the care business and to have completed the sale of St Peter’s Home for him, especially as the home has been in his family’s ownership for such a long time during which it has been considerably extended. I knew that St Peter’s Home would be a great fit for Indi as he has bought all his other care homes in Kent through me, and I know it is reassuring for Martin to know that the home will be run by an experienced local operator. This sale shows the strong demand we are continuing to see for care homes across the South East.”
St Peter’s Home was sold for an undisclosed price.
