Renowned Sudbury gastropub bought by experienced operator

With a welcoming atmosphere and strong community presence, The Wagon features well-presented décor throughout and is renowned for its quality food and drink offering. As well as several drinking areas, there is a games area with pool and darts, two dining areas and an enclosed courtyard garden.

Situated in Acton Square in Sudbury, the pub benefits from a central location and proximity to the high street seeing strong footfall from both residents and visitors to the area.

Owner of The Wagon, John Holberry, has been developing the pub while also growing his other business, the Nethergate Brewery, and this sale allows him to concentrate on the brewery's exciting future expansion plans.

Priyanka Georgy, who already owns and operates a successful pub in Woodbridge called The Green Man Inn, is excited to take over the business and build upon the strong foundations already in place.

The pub already enjoys a fantastic reputation and loyal customer base, which is a credit to John, and everyone involved. Having successfully operated a pub in Woodbridge, I understand the importance of maintaining what customers love while continuing to develop and enhance the offer.

The Wagon was sold at an undisclosed sum, off a freehold asking price of £550,000.
