After running the long-established store for 18 years, owners Diane and Steve Moody have sold The Corner Store due to retirement. They commented: “After serving our local community for so long, and seeing children in the area grow up and move forward with their lives, we wanted to turn more of our attention toward our own family, and enjoy the freedom of not being tied to running the business so we can spend more time with our grandchildren and enjoy their accomplishments in life with them. Christie & Co helped us through this journey at a time when we were looking to make a change in our lives.”

The store has been sold to experienced operators Ragavan and Prashalina, who own other stores in the local area. They look forward to taking over the business and plan to upgrade the shop, introduce new branding, and increase product lines, to continue serving the store’s loyal customer base.

Ragavan said: “I am very excited to be taking over The Corner Store. It is a wonderful shop that has been long established in the local area, with loyal customers. I am planning to enhance the store’s offering and increase product lines so that we have a much wider range of products and choice for our customers.”

Matt McFarlane, Business Agent at Christie & Co, said: “It was a pleasure to look after the sale and purchase of this business. This store has been at the heart of the local community for many years. Diane and Steve have done a great job over the last 18 years and have been an intrinsic part of the community. I wanted to ensure the store was handed over to a great buyer – which we have in Ragavan and Prashalina – who already operate a store in the area and will be able to continue the great work Diane and Steve have done, whilst further enhancing the business and taking the store into the future for many years to come.”

The store was sold off an asking price of £380,000.
