The Fountain Inn occupies a prominent position on Medomsley Road, in Consett town centre. The pub is frequented by many locals in the area and has a loyal and longstanding customer base.
Well renowned for its customer service, organised events and as a popular function venue, Kay and Malcolm Driver owned and operated the pub for over 17 years and were looking to retire.
The Fountain Inn has completed a full refurbishment and re-opened on 23rd May. The new owners and management team are aiming to focus on offering a wide range of beers, ales and wines, as well as often showcasing local music and talent, all in a welcoming environment.
The owners have had an extremely successful opening weekend, and are delighted there is a new exciting hub for the people of Consett.
Marslie McGregor, Business Agent at Christie & Co, comments, “The Fountain Inn presented an excellent opportunity for an operator to take over a long-established business, allowing the previous owners to retire after 17 years. With an excellent reputation and town centre location, we had a good level of interest in this site, demonstrating the demand we are experiencing for freehold hospitality businesses.
“We wish the new owners all the success in their new venture.”
The Fountain Inn was sold off an asking price of £285,000.
