The Harp & Castle on Leith Walk is a quintessential institution with deep roots in local football culture. It first opened as The Tommy Younger Bar, named after the legendary Hibs and Liverpool goalkeeper, before becoming The Harp & Castle under the current ownership of Richard Currie, who has operated the pub for over 26 years.

The Harp & Castle has a loyal following and offers significant scope for growth, including opportunities to introduce a food offering, themed nights, or craft beer options.

This traditional community pub offers a warm and inviting atmosphere, featuring traditional wooden finishes and seating for 200 patrons, complemented by an outdoor space that seats up to 30 guests.

Current owner, Richard, who is handing over the reins of the well-loved pub, comments, “We'd like to say a big thank you to all customers past and present. Without you, the pub wouldn’t have been such a success!”

Simon Watson, Senior Business Agent at Christie & Co who is managing the sale, comments, “The Harp & Castle is a perfect example of a traditional pub. It is not very often that a freehold opportunity like this becomes available in such a prominent part of Edinburgh.  We expect high levels of interest in this property, so please don’t hesitate to get in contact soon. "

The Harp & Castle is being sold freehold for an asking price of offers over £800,000.
