Well-established Spinney Day Nursery in Chester changes hands after almost 30 years

Established in 1998 by Alison Thomson, The Spinney Day Nursery - Hoole Village is a charming children’s day nursery, thoughtfully developed as a purpose-built extension of the owner's family home with effective operating capacity for 41 children. The dynamic of this set-up has worked perfectly, creating an authentic ‘home from home’ nursery setting, which has proven to be one of the main selling points for parents and children.

Located in Hoole Village, a well‑established and popular residential area of Chester, the nursery is ideally positioned for local families and commuters. The setting benefits from an impressive garden that supports outdoor learning and forest school activities, with a blend of hard and soft play areas that provide varied play experiences, while the rear garden backs onto open fields and woodland, offering children access to natural surroundings and resources.

Alison recently decided that the time was right to sell and seek her retirement.

Following a confidential sales process with Sofia Beck at Christie & Co, the setting has been purchased by expanding group operator, Early Learners Nurseries, which now has seven settings.

The Spinney Day Nursery - Hoole Village was sold for an undisclosed price.
