Thornton Dental Practice is a family-run, two-surgery mixed-income dental business. It sits on The Crescent, a busy shopping parade within the borough of Sefton in Liverpool, eight miles from the city centre.
The business has been owned by Dr Anthony Lam for over 27 years and was brought to market to allow him to retire.
Following a confidential sales process with Cathy Murphy at Christie & Co, it has been purchased by first-time buyer, Dr Anthony Alvi-Bennett.
Dr Anthony Lam, the former owner of Thornton Dental Practice, comments, “It has been a great honour and privilege to serve the Sefton and Merseyside community, particularly the residents of Thornton, for over 27 years. Since taking over Thornton Dental Practice in 1999, I have had the great pleasure of caring for generations of local families, with some patients spanning three generations. Throughout that time, I have dedicated much of my life to caring for my patients and serving the local community. Building those relationships has been the most rewarding aspect of my career.
“Having decided to retire and begin a new chapter focused on travelling and pursuing personal interests, it was very important to me to find a successor who would continue the practice's values and look after the loyal patients of Thornton Dental Practice. I wish Dr Anthony Alvi-Bennett every success and have every confidence that he will continue to build on the practice's strong foundations and take Thornton Dental Practice to the next level.”
Dr Anthony Alvi-Bennett, the new owner of Thornton Dental Practice, comments, “Owning my own practice has long been an ambition of mine, driven by a desire to diversify my income, have greater control over clinical decisions, and plan for the future. Thornton Dental Practice stood out due to its strong UDA rate, excellent location close to where I live, and the significant opportunity to grow the private side of the business. Looking ahead, my focus will be on expanding private treatments and building on the solid foundations already in place.”
