Two Trees is an established care home registered for up to 28 residents. It occupies a two-storey, 27-bedroom period property on Milehouse Road on the northern outskirts of Plymouth.

The business was set up by June and Roger Gliddon over 40 years ago. Since the sad passing of Roger, it has been run by June and her daughter, Paula Pillage, who recently made the hard decision to sell to retire from the sector. For June and Paula, identifying the right successor was a key consideration throughout the sales process.

Following a confidential sales process through Simon Harvey at Christie & Co, Two Trees has been acquired by CoActive Care, a specialist provider of complex residential care services operating across Devon. The acquisition was completed by the Directors, Elizabeth and Jason Feller, and forms part of CoActive Care’s ongoing strategy to expand its provision of high-quality, person-centred care for adults with complex physical disabilities, learning disabilities, mental health needs, acquired brain injuries, and dementia.

This sale represents a significant milestone in the organisation’s continued development and reinforces its commitment to delivering exceptional care within family-led, community-focused environments.

June Gliddon and Paula Pillage, the former owners of Two Trees, comment, “Our care home had been in our family for 48 years, so selling it was never going to be just a business decision. It was an emotional journey, and finding the right people to continue caring for our residents was every bit as important as achieving the sale itself.”

Elizabeth and Jason Feller, Directors at CoActive Care, comment, “We are delighted with the acquisition of Two Trees. The home has an ethos and values that closely align with our own, which was an important factor in our decision to acquire the service. We look forward to working closely with the existing staff, residents and their families, building on the strong foundations already in place and ensuring that Two Trees continues to evolve and thrive in the next chapter of its development.”

Simon Harvey, Senior Director - Care at Christie & Co, comments, “Having been entrusted by June and Paula to find a new owner for their business, I am delighted to have once again continued our association with Jason and Elizabeth in assisting their continued growth. I wish June and Paula a long and healthy retirement, and likewise, Jason and Elizabeth the very best with this new venture.

“The sale of Two Trees is another excellent example of the diverse range of care homes that Christie & Co sells and the appetite that exists for such opportunities across the South West. As we approach the midpoint of the year, transaction levels remain very positive, and I expect this to continue over the second half of the year and indeed, beyond.”

Two Trees was sold for an undisclosed price.
