Located in the affluent suburb of Llanishen in north Cardiff, Ty Coch was originally a Victorian dwelling that has been sympathetically extended over the years and is now registered for 68 clients offering nursing and dementia care.
Previously owned by Linc Cymru (Linc), which merged with Pobl Group in April 2024, Ty Coch was brought to market as part of a strategic divestment of Linc’s care portfolio, which also included Penylan and Capel Grange which have also been sold as going concerns.
Following a confidential sales process with Rob Kinsman at Christie & Co, the home has been sold to Amaya Care Homes.
The deal is part of Amaya's ongoing growth to broaden its quality care services across south Wales and follows hot on the heels of its acquisition of Capel Grange from Linc in January 2025. This acquisition brings the total number of elderly beds under Amaya’s ownership in South Wales to 196.
Rajan Gupta, CEO at Amaya Care Homes, comments, “The acquisition of Ty Coch is another exciting milestone in Amaya’s growth across the region. The care home shares our commitment to high-quality, relationship-centred care and we are excited to welcome their team into our family. Together, we will continue to provide exceptional care and support to our residents and their families, building on the strong community ties established by Ty Coch.”
Gary Hortop, Director of Care and Support at Linc, comments, “We are incredibly proud of what we have achieved at Ty Coch, providing much-needed care to the community of Llanishen and beyond. We would like to take this opportunity to thank our exceptional staff and much-loved residents. We are confident that, under Amaya’s stewardship, Ty Coch will continue to thrive and provide the very best care to our elderly population.”
Rob Kinsman, Regional Director - Care at Christie & Co, comments, “It has been a privilege to act for Linc and facilitate this sale to Amaya Care Homes, an organisation known for its robust operational capabilities and outstanding approach to care. We are certain that under Amaya’s management, Ty Coch will achieve new heights in service excellence.”
Kirill Bingham of Clarke Willmott represented Linc, and Hazel Phillips of RWK Goodman represented Amaya Care Homes in the transaction.
Ty Coch was sold for an undisclosed price.
