Established in 2018 by local hotelier Chris Taplin, the premium craft distillery operates from a restored 19th century engine and cargo shed on the historic Wensleydale Railway platform in Leyburn, in the Yorkshire Dales. The distillery is known for producing a range of high-quality spirits including London dry gins, flavoured vodkas, and spiced rum, with Chris’ passion for quality and craftsmanship inspiring him to create spirits that stand proudly alongside other premium brands from Yorkshire.
In 2023, the addition of a new bar area further enhanced the visitor experience, offering guests a welcoming and characterful space to enjoy the full range of spirits in the heart of the distillery.
In addition to its distilling operations, the business hosts a variety of immersive experiences, including tasting events and the popular “Gin Train Experience” in partnership with Wensleydale Railway. The distillery’s Signature Gin was awarded a silver medal at the prestigious World Spirits Competition in San Francisco.
After seven successful years, owner Chris Taplin has decided to retire from the business, presenting an exciting opportunity for new ownership.
