The closed village pub occupies a prominent position on the A259 between Chichester and Emsworth, within the historic coastal village of Bosham. Situated in the Chichester Harbour Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and close to both Goodwood and Fontwell, the location benefits from local and visitor trade.
The White Swan offers a bar and restaurant with approximately 60 covers, external seating for around 30 guests, a three-bedroom first-floor residence, and parking.
The pub was sold on behalf of outgoing private owners to local businessman Peter Terry, of Emsworth Heating Limited, who plans to refurbish and reopen.
Peter Terry commented, “We are grateful for this chance to bring a historically important building back into use. It is important we maintain and preserve our historically important heritage.
"The White Swan Hotel will reopen late summer 2026 to provide a fine dining experience and we look forward to welcoming new and old customers alike.”
Richard Wood, Regional Director – Pubs & Restaurants at Christie & Co, commented, “We are delighted to have completed on this pub, and we are sure the new owners will make the pub a tremendous success following refurbishment. It has been a strong start to the year for pub sales in this region, with plenty more in the pipeline as we move into the second half of the year.”
