Big plans for busy Leeds pharmacy following sale

Whitkirk Pharmacy is a single-site owner-operated pharmacy that dispenses an average of circa 9,600 items per month. It is located in the east Leeds suburb of Crossgates, next door to Austhorpe View Surgery.

It has been owned by Ben Wilson for over 20 years and was brought to market to allow him to retire.

Following a confidential sales process through Jon Booth at Christie & Co, the pharmacy has been purchased by a local couple who own three other pharmacies – one in Norton, and two in Scarborough. Going forward, they plan to introduce private and enhanced NHS services at the pharmacy and are committed to improving community engagement.

Ben Wilson, the former owner of Whitkirk Pharmacy, comments, “It was a big decision to finally go to market, but I felt that the time was right, and I am looking forward to an extended holiday while I consider what comes next. I wish the buyers the greatest of success in taking the business forward.”

There were dozens of interested parties when we launched this site and multiple bids. Levels of interest for this type of site have further improved in recent months, and supply continues to outstrip demand significantly.”

Whitkirk Pharmacy was sold for an undisclosed price.
