New hands-on owner for health centre pharmacy in Windermere

Windermere Health Centre Pharmacy is an independent community pharmacy located within a health centre situated just off Lake Road – the main road that links the two town centres of Windermere and Bowness-on-Windermere. It dispenses an average of 4,250 prescription items per month to local residents and tourists who visit this popular area of the Lake District and is primarily run by two regular locum Pharmacists.

The pharmacy has been owned by local Pharmacist, David Carter, for 18-years, and was recently brought to market to allow him to retire.

Following a confidential sales process with Karl Clezy at Christie & Co, and with funding sourced through Lizi Bates at Christie Finance, it has been purchased by first-time buyer from Lancashire, Ali Awais who plans to run the pharmacy full-time on a hands-on basis, and introduce more additional services that will benefit the health and well-being of his patients.

David Carter, former owner of Windermere Health Centre Pharmacy, comments, “I have sold the pharmacy to allow me to retire after 56-years of service as a pharmacist.  I am delighted to sell this pharmacy to an independent first-time buyer.”

Prior to the takeover, the pharmacy offered limited services, but we’ve already made significant progress by introducing contraception services, free blood pressure checks, Pharmacy First, and free delivery for all our customers.

Windermere Health Centre Pharmacy was sold for an undisclosed price.
