Ysguborwen Care Home is registered to provide elderly and specialist dementia care for up to 80 residents. The home occupies a three-storey converted property, with the majority of bedrooms benefiting from en suite facilities, alongside a purpose-built extension and a pamper room, all set within beautifully landscaped grounds. The home has an exceptional reputation and was most recently recognised with the 2026 Top 20 Care Home Award by carehome.co.uk.
The home is located on Llwydcoed Road in the historic town of Aberdare in South Wales. It sits close to a range of local amenities, including a pharmacy and hospital, while being just a stone’s throw away from the beautiful Welsh countryside.
The home was owned and operated by Josh Slator, whose portfolio comprises two care homes in England and one in Wales. Following a strategic review of his portfolio, Josh decided to sell his Welsh home to focus on the continued development and operation of his English homes.
Following a confidential sales process with Oliver McCarthy at Christie & Co, Ysguborwen Care Home has been purchased by Caron Group, the largest regional care provider in South Wales that owns and operates 18 homes across the country.
