In October 2020, co-founders, Sanjeiv Asokan and Malavi Siva opened Complete Smiles’ first dental business. It was a well-fitted, three-surgery private-income squat practice in the London Borough of Harrow.
Given the Covid-19 pandemic began just six months earlier, this was a bold business decision, however, the dental market saw significant growth in 2020, including:
- A rise in discretionary spending
- Increased awareness of oral health
- An increase in the marketing presence of practices providing private services
In just over three years, the pair took the business from strength to strength.
They have grown the business revenue by over 100% within a two-year period, in part, thanks to a very strong marketing strategy which has elevated it to great success. They have also acquired a freehold property which has been transformed and fitted out as a specialist unit that enhances the Complete Smiles brand.
The business is now targeting a 230% increase in turnover by 2025, and the owners are in the process of developing an Implant Centre so that they can undertake more complex services.
Our team valued the Complete Smiles business in 2023 as part of a refinance of one of its practices. Our valuation indicated that the dental market, as a whole, provides very strong opportunities for both squat and existing practices to enhance their offerings into a wide range of services. We have seen a notable increase in the amount of marketing that practices are undertaking which is a business area that has hugely developed over the years, especially through social media, as a way to showcase successful services and results.
