Grace’s Day Nursery setting in South East London sold to Family First

Specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co, has announced the sale of a Grace’s Day Nursery setting in Catford, South East London, to Family First.

This Grace’s Day Nursery setting is a well-established day nursery with an effective operating capacity for 73 children, and a "Good" Ofsted rating. The business operates from a newly refurbished, large, detached property that has been lovingly restored and renovated to a very high standard.

The nursery is located in the South East London area of Catford, with excellent roadside frontage on a main road just off the South Circular. It is situated close to a number of stations which provide direct access to central London, and benefits from great bus links making it the ideal nursery for local, commuting parents.

The setting was previously owned by Mr James, Mr Andrew and Ms Jo Evans and Ms Michelle Brockwell, who decided to sell to concentrate on their other nursery businesses and other business interests. It has been purchased by growing nursery group, Family First, which owns an additional 20 nurseries within a 25-mile radius of London and looks after more than 1000 children.

Mr James Evans comments, “During the pandemic, we reviewed our businesses and decided that we didn’t have the focus time our Perry Hill setting required and deserved. Therefore, I contacted Sophie at Christie & Co and she managed the whole process incredibly well for us. The amount of interest and speed of completion was far better than we expected, and we are extremely pleased to have sold to Family First. They are a business that share very similar values to ours and we wish them all the best taking Perry Hill forward.”

Speaking on behalf of Family First, Chief Financial Officer, Mr Craig Grant, comments, “Grace’s is an excellent addition to the Family First Group, and we have been incredibly impressed by James and his team. They have built a great environment of care and engagement for the children attending the nursery. Family First will build on this to provide an outstanding environment for all current and future children. We look forward to welcoming all staff, parents and children to our growing family.”

Sophie Willcox, Director at Christie & Co, who handled the sale, comments, “We were overwhelmed with the interest we had in this Grace’s Day Nursery setting. Within just two weeks of marketing, we received eight offers and completed the deal within eight and a half weeks of signing Heads. It is yet another example of the demand for high-quality assets in desirable London locations.”

This setting was sold at an undisclosed price.
