Local operators purchase pair of Bognor care home businesses
Specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co, has completed the freehold sale of Chalcraft Hall and Normanton Lodge care homes in Bognor Regis, West Sussex.

Chalcraft Hall is a residential care home registered for 20 and Normanton Lodge is a residential care home registered for 26. Both properties have ‘Good’ CQC ratings, benefit from full-time managers, are located within close proximity of each other, and offer good synergies.
Following separate sales processes with Charles Phillips at Christie & Co, the homes have been purchased by husband-and-wife team, Selva and Nikki Arjuna, who also own Hooklands in Bracklesham Bay.
Speaking on behalf of the seller of Chalcraft Hall, Sean Minks of Musgrave Ventures, comments, “Since purchasing Chalcraft Hall via Christie & Co back in 2015, we have enjoyed our time looking after our residents and we wish the new owners all the best with their plans. This is a great business and we will miss the staff and residents when we relocate back to Australia.”
Dr Nathan, the seller of Normanton Lodge, comments, “It was a tough decision to sell the care home but, having bought the property back in 2004, we felt the time was right to retire from the sector and hand the business over to a new owner. When we bought the business, we did so via Charles, and we felt it was natural to go back to Christie & Co when we wanted to retire. It has been a pleasure running Normanton Lodge, the new owners take over a great home with a dedicated team of staff.”
Selva Arjuna, the new owner, comments, “These are two well-presented, well-run care homes located in good areas and Nikki and I are looking forward to getting to know the staff and residents in both homes. The homes will tie in well with our current care home, Hooklands, which we have owned since 2016. Being so close, it seemed a good idea to purchase both at the same time and we are excited about the new opportunities they offer.”

Funding for the buyer was sourced through Jimmy Johns at Christie Finance. Legal advice for the buyer was provided by Hazel Phillips and Yasmine Qasim of RWK Goodman, and advice for both sellers was provided by Neil Cook and Clementine Saulnier of Ellis Jones Solicitors.
Chalcraft Hall and Normanton Lodge were sold for undisclosed prices.
