Specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co, has announced the sale of The Rose & Crown, a cherished seventeenth century pub in Charlbury, Oxfordshire, to the family-run pub company Oak Taverns.

The Rose & Crown is a much-loved traditional country pub with a loyal following among locals and visitors alike. Nestled in the heart of the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the pub has earned numerous accolades over the years, including CAMRA’s ‘Oxfordshire Pub of the Year’.
The pub was sold by long-time owner Nikki Page, who comments, “The Rose & Crown has been a beloved part of our family for decades, and it has been a joy to see it thrive as a hub for the community. While it is bittersweet to say goodbye, I know it is in safe hands with Oak Taverns, who share our passion for great pubs and community spirit.”
Based in Thame, Oak Taverns operates a growing portfolio of pubs across the South of England. Our goal was to find someone who truly understood the character and heritage of The Rose & Crown, and we’re thrilled to have matched the pub with the right buyer in Oak Taverns.”
The Rose & Crown was marketed with a freehold asking price of £650,000 and sold for an undisclosed sum.
