Dating in parts from the 14th century, Hintlesham Hall Hotel & Spa is set across 7.8 hectares in a picturesque location within the heart of the Suffolk countryside, close to the renowned ‘Constable Country’. The Grade I listed Elizabethan hotel has built a renowned reputation as one of the pre-eminent hotels in East Anglia and features 32 luxury ensuite bedrooms, function and spa facilities.
Established for centuries as a beacon of hospitality, the hotel was propelled to even greater heights in 1971 under the ownership of American writer, chef and cookery school owner, Robert Carrier OBE who made Hintlesham Hall known across the world with his famous TV shows, “Carrier & Friends” and “Carrier’s Kitchen” which was filmed at the hotel and was spun into bestselling cookery courses and books.
In 1983, the hotel was sold to fellow cookery writer, Ruth Watson who undertook an extensive refurbishment and expansion programme establishing the Hall as a four-star Hotel. Ruth went on to become a well-known TV presenter on programmes such as “The Hotel Inspector” & “Country House Rescue”.
Now under family ownership, the current owners have been responsible for substantially upgrading the hotel facilities and expanding the range of services on offer to guests. The investment has significantly widened the hotel’s customer base. Planning permission has been secured for a self-contained function suite and listed building consent has been granted for an enhanced spa development to the rear of the Coach House.
As custodians of the hotel, the family now feel the time is right to step back and hand over to new owners to further develop and enhance this highly successful business.

The hotel is being sold freehold off a guide price of £7,500,000.
