Pair purchases popular Peterborough pharmacy

Specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co, has announced the sale of Dogsthorpe Pharmacy in Peterborough.

Dogsthorpe Pharmacy is a busy community pharmacy which dispenses an average 5,488 items per month. It is located on a long parade in Peterborough, and benefits from the recent opening of a purpose-built, brand-new health centre nearby which is in the process of growing its patient numbers.

Previously owned by O A Edwards Limited, Dogsthorpe Pharmacy was sold to allow the company to concentrate on its other pharmacy in Yaxley. The business has been purchased by a pair of Pharmacists on a joint venture, with one operational and the other in the background.

The Directors of O A Edwards Limited comment, “We are delighted with the sale to LNS Healthcare and feel confident that the community of Dogsthorpe will continue to be well served in their capable hands.”

Mark Page, Director at Christie & Co, who handled the sale, comments, “Demand for quality pharmacies in Cambridgeshire has increased since the pandemic, in part due to the amazing service that the sector has continued to deliver over the past 18 months. Whilst patients have been struggling to secure face to face appointments with their GP, the local pharmacy has become the first port of call for sniffs and sniffles and other minor ailments.”

Dogsthorpe Pharmacy was sold off an asking price of £500,000.
