The property, originally built in 1910 and set up as a Seaside Convalescent home for railway workers in 1927, became Shottendane Nursing Home in 1988 that is registered for 38 residents.
The home was previously owned by Laurence Waitt. Following a confidential sales process run by John Harrison at Christie & Co, it has been purchased by the Isiakpere family who also own other care homes in the area including Tulipa House in Margate which they previously purchased through John Harrison.
John Harrison, Director – Care at Christie & Co, comments, “I am delighted to have completed the sale of Shottendane Nursing Home which is a landmark Grade II listed building with a rich history and am sure that the Isiakpere family will use their considerable local experience to make a success of the home as I have seen them do with Tulipa House. We are seeing good demand in the South East for care homes, with a record pipeline of sales currently proceeding.”
Shottendane Nursing Home was sold for an undisclosed price.
