Sidmouth nursing home changes hands as owner retires after 20+ years

Sidmouth Residential Nursing Home has been significantly modified and improved over the years and now provides accommodation for up to 29 elderly residents. It occupies a corner plot site in a predominantly residential area on the outskirts of the regency resort town of Sidmouth.

For over 20 years, the home has been owned by Sam Bevan who has grown it into a respected, well-run business. Having decided to retire overseas a few years ago, it had latterly been operated by her good friend, Julie Casely, who also wanted to retire, resulting in the home being put up for sale.

Following a confidential process with Simon Harvey at Christie & Co, it has been purchased by an existing care home operator in Devon who identified it as an excellent opportunity to add to their other care business in Devon – Palm Court in Dawlish – which they acquired through Christie & Co in 2016.

Sidmouth Residential Nursing Home was sold for an undisclosed price.
