Surge in South East retail property sales prompts Christie & Co to advise sellers to seek advice early

Since September, the Retail Team has sold almost 30 properties across the region, with an aggregate value of £7,500,000. They note this activity has been driven by a rising number of existing independent retailers, who are hungry to acquire an additional site.

Recent highlights include:

Mark Kaluza, Regional Director – Retail South comments, “Buyers are attracted to the strong, needs-driven trading fundamentals that convenience retail assets offer and the number of opportunities coming to market has been unable to satisfy this demand. Whilst retailers are facing regular challenges with their business such as the increase in crime, the resilience of a convenience store continues to produce a profitable business.

“As we approach the end of the year, we strongly advise anyone who is thinking about selling in 2024 to open discussions with us in December. We can advise on the market and help prepare the business for sale, ready for a hotly anticipated start to the year.”
