We provide consultancy and valuation services to the Hotels property sector, as well as transactional support if you are looking to sell or let a hotel. In addition to these core areas of expertise, market conditions have also increased demand for our bank support and business recovery services and we have been handling an increasing number of assignments in these fields in Austria.

Our Vienna office opened in 2010, and has a team of four highly motivated professionals with expertise in the real estate and tourism industries. By selling more hotels than any of our competitors over the past three years we have established ourselves as Austria’s no. 1 hotel property advisor and broker.

The Vienna office is led by Lukas Hochedlinger, who joined Christie & Co in September 2010 and has been responsible for the successful expansion and growth of the company in Austria and Central and Eastern Europe since. In 2015 he was appointed Managing Director Germany with the aim of strengthening and growing the brand in this European core market. He holds a degree in Tourism Management & Leisure Industry as well as a Master of Science in Real Estate and is a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. Before joining Christie & Co, Lukas worked as Senior Advisor at KPMG Real Estate, Leisure & Tourism CEE in Budapest. Prior to this he worked as Development Manager for RIMC, a hotel management company in Hamburg, Germany. Besides Germany, Austria and CEE he also has experience in the hotel and tourism industry within Russia, Switzerland, the Caribbean and the US.

Simon Kronberger and Marvin Kaiser are both responsible for working on hotel transactions in Austria and CEE. In their roles they support hotel owners and investors and establish relationships with our key clients. Prior to joining Christie & Co in October 2014, Simon Kronberger gained experience as Cluster Sales Manager Corporate at Austria’s largest hotel, the Hilton Vienna. He holds a BA degree in Tourism Management, and his educational career includes various international stays in countries such as Spain, Chile, UK, Norway and Romania. Marvin Kaiser joined Christie & Co’s Vienna team in February 2015, shortly after earning his Bachelor of Science in International Hospitality Management. Back in 2013, he completed a six-month internship at Christie & Co, before he went to Sydney, Australia, for one year to study at ICMS – International College of Management Sydney. Other work experience gained during his studies included internships both in the hospitality and the property industries.

Sandra Pechac rounds off our Vienna team. Having joined the office in its early days in October 2011 as Team Assistant, she assumed a new role in 2012, focusing on marketing and PR in Austria and CEE. Sandra's professional experience includes various positions in the hospitality industry in Austria and abroad, as well as a number of office jobs in an international environment. Sandra holds a Certificate in Event Management from The Event School London as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Real Estate Business. In addition, she currently studies Leadership in Tourism at Vienna’s University of Applied Sciences (FH Wien).

The team in Vienna has sold numerous businesses over recent years, varying in size and type; from resorts and budget hotels based in the city to spa and wellness hotels in more urban areas. We also frequently advise domestic banks and lenders with their exposure in Austria & CEE.

The teams successful transactions include the sale of the 4-star Hotel Bleibergerhof, a108 bedroom property based in Carinthia. The team is particularly proud of the disposal of three Robinson Clubs with a total of 431 bedrooms in Austria and Switzerland. Acting on behalf of the TUI subsidiary Robinson, Christie & Co sold two assets in Switzerland as well as one in Carinthia, Austria, to a Dutch private fund. Other examples include the sale of the 165-bedroom ARTIS Hotel Rennweg in Vienna to an Austrian entrepreneur, and the sale of the 116-bedroom Austria Trend Hotel beim Theresianum to a Russian HNWI.
