Our Frankfurt office was the very first German office, opening in 1999, and remains the flagship of Christie & Co in Germany. We provide consultancy, valuation services and transactional support. In addition to these core activities, market conditions have also increased demand for our bank support and business recovery services. Numerous major transactions, including cross-border deals, have been facilitated through our Frankfurt office.
The team is head up by Constanze Maas. After having joined Christie & Co in Munich as a Consultant Advisory & Valuation in 2012, Constanze progressed to be an Associate Director and subsequently made the move to Frankfurt as Location Manager in 2015. Sebastian Nowak joined Christie & Co in Frankfurt in January 2015, Kevin Esser in August 2016. As Senior Consultants Investment & Letting, they are responsible for building relationships with hotel owners and potential buyers and negotiating hotel transactions. Pia Andrews joined Christie & Co in 2001 as PR & Media Relations Manager and helps to enhance brand awareness and improve Christie & Co's presence in Germany, Austria and CEE.
The team has facilitated a large number of transactions for individual hotel owners as well as institutional investors and funds, including major single asset and portfolio deals – often on an international scale. We also frequently advise domestic banks and lenders with their exposure in Germany.
Successful recent transactions handled by the Frankfurt office include:
- Sale of the Avalon Hotel Freizeit Auefeld, a 4 star, 93 bedroom hotel in Hann. Münden/Lower Saxony, on behalf of a private vendor, as well as to 117 bedroom Columbus Hotel Seligenstadt, near Frankfurt, on behalf of the owner M.u.W. von Rhein KG, to Trans World Corporation (TWC), a US operator of casinos and hotels.
- In co-operation with the other German offices, the Frankfurt team also brokered one of the largest hotel deals in Europe in recent years, the acquisition of the Queens Moat Houses (Germany) Holding GmbH group of hotels by Israeli Fattal Hotels.
- Acting as exclusive site scout for the British Whitbread plc, Christie & Co identified and brokered the sale of the site for the first Premier Inn in Germany at the Frankfurt trade fair, kicking off the rollout of the brand in the country.
