How does demand shape up though across our regions – here we give a round up of how the market is viewed nationally by our team of dental specialists

The Scottish market 

The central belt remains the key focus for our buyers with other areas including Fife and Inverness attracting more attention as market activity remains robust. Whilst Values are generally lower than south of the border the Scottish market is undoubtedly becoming more attractive as buyers more north to find value.

The North, North West and North East 

One of the busiest areas of the UK, the North of England is popular with all types of buyer including independents and corporate. Demand from buyers is strong for all practice types, particularly in and around the major cities including Liverpool, Manchester and Leeds.

We regularly achieve multiple offers for practices in excess of the asking price and average 6 viewings for every practice launched to the market. We have offices in Manchester, Leeds and Newcastle which ensures that our clients have instant access to a dental specialist in their area.

Midlands, Northern Home Counties & East Anglia

Demand across these regions can vary significantly; the majority of areas in the Midlands and Northern Home Counties enjoy demand and values, arguably, as strong as those in London. East Anglia also experiences areas of high demand for practices with more remote areas being less sought-after, this, of course, is reflected in the values.

London and the Home Counties

London still remains the hotspot for buyers with corporate and multiple practice owners competing with each other for the best practices. As demand increases and Associate rates fall, premium prices are being paid for NHS/mixed practices and quality private practices within the M25.

South and South West

Demographically, this region is very well served by dental practices with some of the larger NHS contracts in the UK. Its proximity to London also draws purchasers out, although recruiting new dentists can be a challenge in the more remote areas. 

Although the larger towns and cities such as Bristol, Plymouth & Exeter will attract significant interest, the whole region has plenty to offer potential buyers who are keen to move out of some of the larger cities for a perceived lifestyle change. With offices in Winchester, Exeter and Bristol Christie & Co is well placed to provide relevant local market advice to any perspective sellers in the area.
