Christie Insurance specialises in seven sectors: Retail, Care, Childcare & Education, Hotels, Pubs & Restaurants, Leisure, and Healthcare (Dental, Pharmacies, GP practices). You may have been part of a large Business Protection team, come from an Independent Financial Advisory firm (IFA), or come from another Commercial Insurance Broker. We are offering the chance to join a small team of like-minded people who have a passion for securing new clients and providing them with a range of business protection products. Our products include Life Assurance, Key Person Insurance, Shareholder Protection Insurance, and Employee Benefits (non-investment protection insurance). 

As you would expect from this role, you will need to successfully secure new clients and cross-selling a range of business protection products to existing clients. These products include Life Assurance, Key Person Insurance, Shareholder Protection Insurance, and Employee Benefits (non-investment protection insurance). You will have excellent knowledge and understanding of a range of products and how to tailor your advice to meet clients' needs. We recognise the need for a life-work balance, so we are committed to continuing to work in a flexible hybrid way. After an initial training phase, you will typically work 2 days at home and 3 days in the office, and of course, this might need to be flexed around client visits, etc.

Purpose of the role:

  • To secure new clients through the sale of general insurance policies
  • Develop your reputation internally and externally as a professional, knowledgeable broker
  • Develop and maintain relationships with insurers

Skills and experience:

  • You would typically have solid experience as an advisor in commercial insurance.
  • To have a well-founded understanding of the fundamentals of Insurance, its legal context and the operation of the Insurance Marketplace
  • Demonstrable success in providing telephone-based advice in sales
  • Mirror the same telephone skills in face-to-face meetings
  • Able to manage high volumes of enquiries
  • To maintain consistent conversion rates in quoting and selling to new clients
  • Project a professional and competent image, with an engaging and friendly manner, over the telephone and face-to-face.
  • Strong relationship-building, influencing and team-building skills
  • Experience maintaining a client-led approach
  • Have Cert CII or be prepared to work towards a Cert/Diploma from CII
